🔬🌱💜 Community Lavender Project with Wisconsin Royalty

We are excited to host Alice in Dairyland at our Lavender Farm in Richland Center next week, along with students from St. Mary School in Richland Center!

The students will be participating in a STEM study focused on a very real challenge for our farm: How can we best protect our lavender plants and help them survive the Wisconsin winter? ❄️🌿

So… what exactly is a STEM study?

STEM stands for:

🔬 S – Science
💻 T – Technology
🛠️ E – Engineering
📐 M – Mathematics

Rather than simply reading about a subject, STEM learning gives students the opportunity to tackle a real-world problem. They ask questions, investigate possibilities, collect information, develop ideas, design solutions and evaluate what might work best.

And in this case, our lavender plants are the project! 🌿

We are excited to hear the students’ fresh ideas and see what solutions they come up with.

Don’t miss free (foraged) food at the CrossCurrents Heritage Center this weekend! Also included a really interesting workshop with Abbie Lehman, Kitchen Gardner and Foraging Instructor at Taliesin.

Kitchen Gardener and Foraging Instructor at Taliesin, Abbie Lehman will lead attendees on a walk in the woods to learn which plants are safe to harvest and eat.

The weather forecast lines up perfectly for sunny skies Thursday, Friday, and partly sunny Saturday, with a 100% chance of a Boogiedown just outside of Yuba this early weekend!

We are gearing up for quite possibly the biggest event we’ve had at the farm for Boogiedown.

If you are planning on attending we suggest ordering your passes sooner than later. There WILL BE lines for check in when you arrive on Friday so we recommend arriving to check in early on Thursday if you want to scoop a prime spot. Gates open at 3pm Thursday and 10am Friday and Saturday.

Those early check in passes are available online as well as single day and two day passes. You can bring cash to the gate but it makes it quicker and easier for us to get you checked in if they are purchased ahead of time.

Shuttle service will be available for people camping back in the woods but will be limited due to the number of attendees and safety. Please plan accordingly. A lot of people have been upgrading to camp by car passes at the gate this season to avoid the hike in and out.

Also, do not get scammed by ticket scalpers. We still have tickets available and our prices are cheap enough it’s not worth trying to score a deal that could likely be a scam. We will notify people publicly when the event is sold out. Thanks for your support in one of the most amazing seasons we’ve ever had. Let’s Boogiedown.
