Street Closures as of 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18:
The following roads will now remain open throughout the 60th Presidential Inauguration:
• 3rd Street Tunnel
• Arlington Memorial Bridge
• All inbound ramps of the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge
• Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway
• Independence Avenue from 23rd Street to Washington Avenue, SW
• All roadways west of 18th Street, NW
• All roadways south of Independence Avenue, SW and west of 4th Street, SW
Inaugural Swearing-In/Capital One Arena Event Closures:
The following roads will close to vehicle traffic at 12:01 a.m. Monday January 20, 2025:
• 17 Street from K Street NW to Independence Avenue SW
• Connecticut Avenue from K Street NW to H Street NW
• 16 Street from K Street NW to H Street NW

• Massachusetts Avenue from 11 Street NW to 9 Street NW
• New York Avenue from 7 Street NW to 4 Street NW
Union Station Inaugural Ball Perimeter
The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic on Monday, January 20, 2025, from approximately 12:01 a.m. to approximately 11:59 p.m.:
• F Street from 2 Street NE to Columbus Circle NE
• First Street from G Place NE to Columbus Circle NE
The following streets will be open for local traffic only on Monday, January 20, 2025, from approximately 12:01 a.m. to approximately 11:59 p.m.:
• G Street from North Capitol Street NE to First Street NE
• First Street from K Street NE to G Place NE
The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic on Monday, January 20, 2025, from approximately 5:00 p.m.. to 11:59 p.m.:
• Massachusetts Avenue from North Capitol Street NE to 2 Street NW
• Columbus Circle from E Street NE to First Street NE
Highway Closures
The following exits will be closed to vehicle traffic from Sunday, January 19, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m. through Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m.:
• Eastbound I-395 Exit 1 toward 14 Street / National Mall
• Eastbound I-395 HOV exit toward 14 Street / National Mall
• Eastbound I-395 Exit 3 toward 12 Street Expressway
• Westbound I-395 Exit 4B toward 12 Street Expressway
• Northbound I-395 toward C Street SW / US Capitol
All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions. The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
Virginia Department of Transportation Updates
FAIRFAX—The Virginia Department of Transportation will support Virginia State Police for bridge and ramp closures from Virginia into Washington, D.C. on Jan. 20. Drivers should plan now to use alternate routes during this time. Portable and overhead message signs will remind drivers of the closures.
From 12:01 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20 through the conclusion of Presidential Inaugural events, the following will be in effect:
I-395 Northbound
• I-395 northbound general-purpose lanes will remain open
• 395 Express Lanes (from north of Edsall Road and including the HOV/Rochambeau Memorial Bridge) will be closed
• All entries to the 395 Express Lanes will be closed. 95 Express Lanes drivers will be detoured back to the I-395 general purpose lanes near Edsall Road.
• The general-purpose slip ramp entry to the HOV/Rochambeau Memorial Bridge (Ramp G) will be closed
• The ramp entry from Eads Street to the HOV/Rochambeau Memorial Bridge will be closed
• I-395 northbound ramp to Boundary Channel Drive (Exit 10A) will be closed
I-395 Southbound
• I-395 southbound general-purpose lanes will remain open
• I-395 southbound (George Mason Memorial Bridge) to remain open
• I-395 southbound HOV/Rochambeau Memorial Bridge will be closed
• 395 Express Lanes reversal to southbound will begin at the standard time of 11 a.m.
• 395 Express Lanes access ramps at and south of Washington Boulevard are scheduled to open within the standard window, by about 12:30 p.m.
• Access ramps north of Washington Boulevard, at Eads Street, and from the southbound HOV Rochambeau Memorial Bridge coming from Washington, D.C. will remain closed until events conclude
• I-395 southbound ramp to Boundary Channel Drive (Exit 10A) will be closed
