On Oct. 2, 1925, Richmond, Virginia's Church Hill Tunnel collapsed during repairs, trapping four men.

Among the deceased were two African American laborers, Richard Lewis and H. Smith, whose bodies were never recovered.

Now a century later, locals say the spirits of the victims echo from below, joined by the ghostly whistle of a long-lost train.

The city of Richmond recently held a memorial remembering all who perished, including the entombed workers whose stories were long left unrecognized.
