All I can say is Ian and his gang were a joy to fish with. There was a lot of family camaraderie going on. And with the fantastic weather the Catfish Cadillac accomplished more positives even though we never got the big ‘un.

Captain Joe and Ricky Dewitt and his gang - Will Travis and Mick had a great trip last Saturday.
This gang from Haley Otto landed over a dozen blue cats. We had a striper also.

Travis had the biggest fish. He takes home honors of the 47 pound blue cat and has already. I say it again already received his citation from VMR.!
Who had the smallest fish let’s hear for Ricky possibly 2 ounces striper fought all the way in. Way to go, Rick, which is his PB.

4 flatheads biggest was 33
4 citation blue but 37 was the biggest
There were 3 guys that understood just how hard blue cats are to find as the season to spawn approaches but it’s not their first rodeo‼️

Well I took a little ride up river today just to check on the bait fish near the city and I couldn’t find them. Just a tip guys don’t waste your gas. It’s way too early. We caught one Hickory, 4 herring which we of course had to release Gotta super trip coming up three days with my the Ohio Gang. Jason - is their leader. Don’t know how that happened but our journey this weekend will be Saturday Sunday Monday so we expect to be posting some nice pics. Captain Joe Cannon had a super crew couple days ago. Basically started out very slow and then it got slower and that was just trying to catch the bait. The water temp being at 37° cause a lot of the gizzard had to go deep. I don’t normally fish deep for my gizzard sh, but it’s the same time. I don’t usually have a problem catching them either. In the old days when we catfish all the captains had a great relationship. It wasn’t hard bumming a few shad off someone but looks like those days are now gone. Hopefully the younger bucks out there just getting their captains license start their own guide service, will have a relationship that will last of a lifetime‼️🎣

Ben, Brandon, Blake and grandpa Jim. Despite the fact, bait was tough. These guys had a blast. They’re gonna even have more fun on their next complementary trip from Big Cat Guide Service. They made the best out of a tough day and still managed to get one fish close to 40 pounds before we headed back to the dock, I enjoyed them and as a result, we will be going back out again soon

Took some time today to scout again - water temp today 57.3 degrees and the bite was good.
We basically scouted a 3 mi stretch today because we were doing our best testing different baits, depths,basic weather patterns and My 1st mate and I actually fished and enjoyed the beautiful weather and felt zero pressure to produce. Sometimes a fisherman will put undue pressure on his crew to produce but u know what “ it ain’t our call” We can provide everything on our end but the success all comes from our GOD above. We took a few pics today.
No one has EVER caught a citation catfish sittin at home on the sofa or his new Lazy Boy(Steve P)
