It's our pleasure to have UVA Professor, and author of 'A Vamp There Was', Stanley Stepanic as a special guest on the Vamp Chat with Dan & Eva podcast at our Vampires Danse Macabre, Sept. 26th at the DreamHaus Cabaret!

'Stanley Stepanic is an Associate Professor in Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Virginia. He teaches courses on language, in particular Polish, Russian and East European Film, Russian Folklore, as well as a class on vampires in video games co-taught through Computer Science. His most popular class, however, is titled "Dracula," a historical overview of the vampire from its pre-Christian Slavic roots to modern-day media. He has written three textbooks, including one on vampires, and recently published a combination novella and historical essay, with actress biographies, called A Vamp There Was. In 2026 he will also be featured as a primary expert for a new National Geographic series concerning monsters, in particular the up-coming episode on vampires.'
