We’re back after a Facebook hiatus while adventuring! A little over a year ago, S2 Mountain Adventures embarked on a mission to develop new trekking and climbing routes in some of the most beautiful and isolated mountain ranges in the world. Our reconnaissance focused on improving the client experience, connecting with the alpine landscape and addressing the growing concern of overcrowding regularly experienced in adventure travel.

After a 10-month mountain binge, S2MA’s Jeff Reynolds has reported in with an exciting list of trekking and climbing routes in the Himalaya that re-introduce clients to authentic cultural experience, pristine alpine environment and personal fulfillment. These destinations reflect a progressive, next-level approach for clients to experience adventure and personal challenge. Lacking name recognition and popularity, these destinations offer a sense of remoteness and isolation.

If you’re searching for the wonder and beauty of far-away mountains, you’ve come to the right place. We want you to be the first to know that in the coming weeks, S2MA will be posting programs for new destinations in Nepal for 2026. Greetings from Mongolia! Guide Chris Close arrived this morning in advance of our clients who will arrive Friday for their climbing expedition to the Altai mountains. Ulaanbaatar is a thriving city rich with Mongolia’s storied history and enmeshed with urban culture.

It’s been rainy training here in Virginia for the last month. Since it can rain on the mountain, we don’t shy away from getting out.

It’s far better to reduce your new experiences on the mountain by training through different conditions in lower risk environments.

Learning how to move, stay dry, and self-manage is a valuable skill to make it through the mountains showers and come out on the other side with a smile.

Members of our June Kilimanjaro team and several other S2MA friends enjoyed a conditioning hike this weekend, passing by Corbin Cabin.

The cabin was built in 1909 by George Corbin, who was forced to vacate in 1938 when the land was sold to Shenandoah National Park.
