Alexia Jayy recently made history by winning season 29 of NBC’s The Voice on April 14, 2026.

Based in Mobile, Alabama, she was coached by Adam Levine during the competition.

Alexia Jayy’s win is a landmark moment for The Voice as she becomes the first Black woman to win The Voice in the show’s 15-year history.

Jayy was a frontrunner from her very first performance, earning a rare “triple chair turn” during the Blind Auditions.

Before the show, Jayy had already gained recognition when her single “Who Raised You” went viral in 2021.
An alumna of HBCU Miles College, she was a member of the college choir. Miles is associated with the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
