The Virginia Sheriffs' Association shares funeral arrangements for Carroll County Sheriff's Office Deputy Logan Utt, who was killed in the line of duty on May 29, 2026.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Mount Airy, North Carolina. The funeral service will take place Friday, June 5, at 2:00 p.m., also at Temple Baptist Church.

Deputy Utt was 31 years old and had served with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office since 2023. Please continue to keep Deputy Utt's family, Sheriff Kevin Kemp, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, and the entire Carroll County community in your thoughts and prayers.

The Virginia Sheriffs' Association mourns the loss of Carroll County Sheriff's Office Deputy Logan Utt, who was killed in the line of duty on May 29, 2026.

Deputy Utt served his country as a military veteran and his community as a deputy sheriff. He leaves behind his wife, children, family, friends, and fellow deputies.

We ask that you join us in keeping Deputy Utt's loved ones, the injured deputy, Sheriff Kevin Kemp, and the entire Carroll County Sheriff's Office family in your thoughts and prayers.
