🏈 Teamwork, Training, and Tons of Heart in Chesapeake!

Sheriff Rosado and his team hosted an incredible free youth football camp — giving kids a chance to get active, build skills, and connect with positive role models in uniform.

Despite the heat, the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office made sure safety came first with plenty of water stations and medical support on site. 💧🩺

A huge shout-out to the deputies, volunteers, and community partners who helped make this event a touchdown for public service and youth engagement!

🚔 Real Tools. Real Results.

Thanks to license plate reader (ALPR) technology, King George County Sheriff's Office deputies helped stop a stolen vehicle and arrest four suspects tied to a string of thefts in Virginia and Maryland.

This is exactly why VSA supported ALPR legislation during this year’s General Assembly. ALPRs help deputies across the Commonwealth respond faster, work smarter, and keep communities safer.

🎤 Arlington’s Got Talent – and Heart

At the Arlington County VA Sheriff's Office, mental wellness isn’t a one-month effort. It's a daily commitment.

In a powerful display of self-expression and second chances, ACSO recently hosted Arlington’s Got Talent, a voluntary talent show for inmates that celebrated creativity, identity, and emotional well-being. Original poetry, music, and spoken word took center stage, reminding us that rehabilitation begins when people are seen for more than their circumstances.

💡 Chesterfield County is Leading the Way

When overdose deaths spiked, Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office Karl Leonard and the Chesterfield County Jail didn’t wait for someone else to act. Their HARP program, Narcan distribution, and EMS partnerships helped drive a 50% drop in overdose deaths, double the national decline.

This is what bold, community-based leadership looks like. We’re proud to see their efforts recognized in The Wall Street Journal.
