SignaTours is proud to have partnered with Chesterfield Parks and Recreation for a delightful trip to Virginia Beach and Cape Charles 🏖️🌊🚣‍♀️ We learned about oystering, had a wonderful waterfront lunch, visited a wildlife refuge on the Eastern Shore and strolled the streets of charming Cape Charles!

Our Touch of Class group spent a wonderful day visiting Maryland! We started the day at St. Clemens Island riding a water taxi out to see the lighthouse. We also toured the museum and one room schoolhouse. Lunch was spent at The Front Porch, a delightful restaurant located in Leonardtown, Md. The food and company was wonderful. We finished the day visiting a Clysdale horse farm. Those horses are huge and so gentle. Their Dalmatians and desert tortoise, Clyde, added to our enjoyment.

Our third and final day took us to the town of Appalachia to tour the one room schoolhouse that has stood in the town for many years. We completed the tour with a walk along the scenic Powell River Trail. Be sure to read the rules for schoolteachers!!
This was a fantastic tour and the food was amazing! How do you say Appalachia correctly? You should ask one of our travelers as they were trained by the best! (Hint: pretend you are saying, “I’m going to throw an apple at ya”. )

The second day of our tour to Big Stone Gap included touring the home of June Tolliver, a coal mining museum and seeing https://www.facebook.com/share/1FBLhHG2gY/?mibextid=wwXIfr The Trail of the Lonesome Pine which is the largest outdoor drama in the state. Two of our own travelers were chosen to be in the play as members of the jury! Ernest T Bass showed up from Mayberry and offered a kiss and proposal of marriage to the tour director as well.

It is our last night in Budapest. We are on our way tomorrow. We finished our tour in grand style with a family style dinner and entertainment in Hungry. A cruise to enjoy the lights along the river was the just perfect. (More pictures of our time on the Danube will be posted in the coming days.)

Our Touch of Class group has gone over the mountains and through the woods to beautiful Abington, where we saw the play Frozen which garnered great acclaim from our travelers. After a night at the spectacular Martha Washington Inn we enjoyed an included breakfast and headed for Big Sone Gap.

Everyone had the best day! Some of our folks went to the Czech Republic to see the Cesky’ Krumlov Castle with the Bears protecting it and others went on an excursion to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and the setting for the Sound of Music. Danube River Cruise:Today was a day of relaxation and touring the town of Passau. We went to a family owned working dairy farm and enjoy beverages and baked goods. Yum! We also toured the older portion of town seeing flood water marks on city hall, the castle, where the three rivers meet.

Our Touch of Class travelers had a wonderful day in Wi******er. We visited the wonderful Museum of the Shenandoah where we saw beautiful art exhibits including "Scraposauras" art. We then had a delightful lunch at Picadilly Public House restaurant - excellent food and great service. We ended the day at Shenandoah University where we saw Singing in the Rain - terrific show and superb tap dancing!! We have lots more great upcoming tours - come and join us!

Chesterfield Parks and Rec had a fabulous day in Maryland! It was all hands on deck as we picked all we could eat of delicious crabs at Fisherman’s Crab Deck. Then a sunny boat ride on the Narrows and a visit at the Chesapeake Heritage Visitor Center! We can’t wait for our next two adventures: Captivating Cape Charles and the Virginia Netune Festival!

Our Touch of Class travelers visited Tangier Island. It was a beautiful day for a cruise across the Chesapeake Day and a visit to this unique community.
