Every June, Lone Ranger Canyon, located in the magnificent Alabama Hills, is transformed into an “Under the Stars” venue for hosting the annual Lone Pine – “Concert in the Rocks.” The evening begins with a welcoming reception in the museum. Following the reception, the attendees are transported to the Alabama Hills for a “Cowboy Ranch” dinner preceding the show.

The entertainment begins as early stars grace the evening sky and the shadows of the setting sun lengthen in the canyon. Soon, veiled lights cast unique, mysterious shadows on the canyon walls. Cinematic memories of our Western film heroes become freshly imagined as if they were a long-ago Saturday matinee.

A season of celebration is underway at Desert Valleys!

As we continue our Annual Stars Drive in support of our community’s 4th of July celebration, we've transformed our lobby to honor two incredible milestones:

⭐ 250 Years of America
⭐ 80 Years of Desert Valleys Federal Credit Union serving our community

From our newly displayed American flag to America's 250th anniversary banners, these decorations serve as a reminder of the enduring spirit of our nation and the communities we proudly serve.

We're also excited to partner with GoRidgecrest in celebrating America's 250th anniversary! Special edition America's 250 Year T-shirts are available for purchase at the Ridgecrest Welcome Center and right here at Desert Valleys FCU, with all profits going to Wreaths Across America.

Thank you to GoRidgecrest for helping our community commemorate this historic occasion and for creating a meaningful way for residents to show their local pride.

Stop by, take a look, support the Stars Drive, and join us as we celebrate our nation's past, our community's future, and 80 years of serving our members.

Nothing pairs better with a Highway 395 road trip than great barbecue and steakhouse stops along the Eastern Sierra corridor. From riverside dining at Ewings on the Kern in Kernville, to hearty mountain-town meals in Lone Pine at Seasons, each destination offers its own flavor on the Eastern Sierra experience.

Travelers passing through Big Pine can enjoy the smoky, slow-cooked favorites that made Copper Top BBQ a must-stop along Highway 395, while Bishop’s Aaron Schat’s Roadhouse serves up classic roadhouse comfort with steaks, ribs, and a welcoming Western atmosphere.

Whether you’re heading North for adventures or exploring the Eastern Sierra one town at a time, stop by the California Welcome Center – Ridgecrest to discover more local and regional dining favorites, hidden gems, and road trip inspiration along the way.
