We finally added some long overdue signage to the front entrance. Hopefully this helps our wonderful guests find there way. Remember if you are camping and pulling a trailer you'll want to back into the sites.
Looking forward to another amazing year in the Edisto River!

It's that wonderful time of year in South Carolina, no humidity and warm fires to snuggle up to. It's been a incredible year (besides being flooded and a 7 week remodel 😜) on the Edisto River. Come visit, whether camping or at the lodge we're open year round Come enjoy nature at the newly updated Edisto River Lodge!

Great news for the Edisto River, another 206 acres are protected and turned into public wildlife management area open to the public. This piece of land is adjacent to the Edisto River Lodge and together with the 1300 acres across the river make this place a wildlife haven!!

Lowcountry Land Trust proudly announces the transfer of the 206-acre, permanently protected Mallard Tract to SCDNR.

Water has receeded enought to walk around the main lodge, we have pulled out all the carpets and working on removing everything. Still 4 ft deep around the house. The side road (la dolce) coming in is completely washed out with six foot ruts. Nature's Trail road should be passable by Thursday.

The waters are receding and repairs have already begun. It's important to get everything dry and all traces of river out of the house immediately. Luckily our AC systems work well and everything is drying fast. Our goal is to have everything completed in 2 weeks time. We won't be able to drive to the house for another 5 days so you can see how challenging it will be. The RV sites were not effected and as soon as the road is open we're back in business. All local businesses would love some tourism in the coming weeks, thousands have had some pretty bad luck this week! Check out our website for more details. www.edistoriverlodge.com

We had to paddle all the way to the house today, about a half mile from the main road. The river crested this morning at 17.21ft, the highest since 1945, for comparison, it was 3ft deep just 10 days ago. It will take a week or two for the water levels to get back to normal at around 6-8ft. The house has a few feet of water inside and will take a bit of work to clean up. You can see from the photos our journey in today and the resulting mess. Many homes up and down the Edisto River are flooded and so many families will be displaced for some time. Living here we all have a deep respect for the river and know this is always a possibility, it's totally worth the risk to live on this great river! www.edistoriverlodge.com

The Edisto officially peaked early this morning at 17.21ft. Just a few inches shy of the 1925 record. So many families have been displaced all along the river, many many homes are under water. The water will receed slower than it came up exacerbating the problem for all the flooded homes. We have about a foot of water in the house, it will be until Tuesday that the water will receed enought to start the cleanup and repair process but could be two weeks for the waters to fully receed.

Flooding on the Edisto River starting from Pierce Road going down Natures Trail in Colleton County SC. River height almost 17ft, the highest it has been since 1945. Checking out the lodge on the river before we paddle out. www.edistoriverlodge.com
