✈️ Beginning on May 7, 2025, South Carolinian travelers will be required to present a driver's license or ID card with the Real ID gold star any time they want to board an airplane or enter a federal building or military institution.

After May 7, 2025 if you do not have a valid US Passport, military ID, or another federally approved identification, you will need a REAL ID in order to board a domestic, commercial flight. Regardless of whether you buy a REAL ID or not, you must still have an unexpired US Passport to travel internationally.
