The Backing Small Businesses grant program, supported by American Express, is now accepting applications. This summer, 400 eligible businesses will receive funding for projects that support their efforts to overcome economic hardship, grow, and drive community impact.

RISING SUN/OHIO COUNTY, IN: It’s Shiner Pride Car Show Day! Sunday, July 13, 2025. Registration on arrival for entrants ($20 per vehicle) beginning at 8am. (FREE for spectators.) Awards at 4:30pm. Show closes at 5:30pm. This is a fundraiser for the Rising Sun Shiner Pride School Band. Event info and questions should be directed to the car show page. Come Have Some Fun in Rising Sun!

RISING SUN/OHIO COUNTY, IN: Less than 24 hours before the Shiner Pride Car Show begins in downtown Rising Sun! (July 13, 2025) Free for spectators. Registration begins at 8am and is $20 per vehicle. The American Legion is offering breakfast and lunch for sale, and the Rising Sun Methodist Church is having an Ice Cream Social from 1-4pm. Check out the local businesses while you’re in town. We’ll be looking for you!

RISING SUN/OHIO COUNTY, IN: Street closing for tomorrow’s (July 13, 2025) Shiner Pride Car Show in downtown Rising Sun! Come on out and support the Shiner Pride Marching Band!

Tomorrow is the day!!!! Here is a map of what downtown Rising Sun will look like!

Main Street, Plum Street, Williams Street, First Street, Third Street, Fourth Street, Poplar Street, and Front Street will all be CLOSED from 5am-6pm! If you live on any of these streets, we ask that you find other parking arrangements for the day! We appreciate everyone’s help in making this day run smoothly!

With the forecast saying potential rain, I would like to remind everyone that the show is RAIN OR SHINE!

RISING SUN/OHIO COUNTY, IN: Kenny the Vegetable Man will be under the pavilion at the Visitors Center tomorrow, Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 8:30ish-2pm! He'll have zucchini, onions, cucumbers, yellow squash, new red potatoes, peaches, tomatoes, corn, cantaloupe, watermelon, green beans and farm fresh eggs! The Visitors Center is located at 217 N. High Street, Rising Sun. **Please slow down and use caution while entering & leaving the parking lot.** NO PARKING behind the building as there construction going on at this time.
