🚨 BREAKING: Top universities like Yale and Oxford reached a clear conclusion. Riding a bike can make you happier than earning more money.

Most cyclists already feel this instinctively every time they ride.
What surprised researchers was how strong this effect actually is.

For years, money was believed to be one of the main drivers of happiness.
Recent research showed that movement plays a much bigger role.

Scientists analyzed data from more than one million people across the United States.
The study was published in 2020 in the medical journal The Lancet.

Researchers focused on something called poor mental health days.
They compared exercise habits with emotional well being.

Age, income, education, weight, health status, and even past depression were considered. The results stayed consistent across every group.

People who exercised regularly reported more happy days each year.
Cycling represented a large share of those positive activities.

Road cycling, gravel riding, and mountain biking all delivered similar benefits.
Regular cyclists gained up to 18 extra happy days per year.

That equals almost two and a half weeks of better mental health.
Very few lifestyle changes deliver that kind of return.

Only some team sports scored slightly higher due to social interaction.
Group rides showed an extra boost thanks to shared experiences.

Make time to ride your bike and let happiness catch up.

Magical Mystery Bike Tours has always been my passion business — never about making money, but about sharing the joy of riding, exploring, great food, and beautiful places with amazing people. Being retired gives us the freedom to do what we love, and we’re grateful to donate a large portion of our profits to bike trail foundations, sports teams, and charities we truly believe in.

My husband and I have been traveling around Costa Rica with our family to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s together before welcoming our first two grandchildren next year. During our time here, I gained a much deeper understanding of Pura Vida, Costa Rica’s national motto.

While it literally means “Pure Life,” Pura Vida is so much more. It’s an attitude of gratitude, finding happiness without chasing material things, appreciating nature and respecting our environment, and cherishing time with family and friends. It’s a way of living that feels joyful, grounded, and meaningful.
As I reflected on this, I realized something powerful — we’ve been living Pura Vida through Magical Mystery Bike Tours all along, even before we had the words for it. Every ride, every shared meal, every laugh along the way reflects those same values.

Now that I’ve found the perfect phrase to describe what truly matters, I’m bringing Pura Vida home with me — and into every tour we offer. 🇨🇷 ❤️

This is a nice recap of our final bicycle tour of 2025 on the Greenbrier Trail told by one of our riders who Is also a friend of mine. She did an amazing job describing this tour!

Sadly, she took a little spill inside one of the tunnels but she is all healed up now.

Considered subscribing to her You Tube channel. She covers a wide range of topics that are very relatable.
