I'm looking for one (1) youth baseball player (two at the most) that is 7, 8, or 9-years old to join my Jordan Baseball Academy 9U Instructional/Travel Team. NOTE: If 9-years old, then birthday has to be after May 1.

A few details:

- Our "season" ends in October
- Practice Thursday 6-8 and Sunday 2-4 in Roanoke
- One tournament per month (August, September, October)
- No overnight stays, all tournaments within 1 1/2 hour driving distance from Roanoke
- Instruction from the Jordan Baseball Academy Staff
- Total Cost is $400 (all-inclusive); four months worth of practices, nice uniform (jersey, hat, pants, belt, socks), three tournaments, USSSA-Baseball Page, insurance, etc.

Sports can bring out the best in people. But at a youth softball tournament in Tennessee, it seems to have brought out the worst in the parents caught on video getting into a fight.

If you are looking to book a rental at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, do NOT use Premier Vacation Rentals aka LakeFrontRetreats.com aka VacationRentalsSmithMountainLake.com. These people steal money, they stole $500 from me. I had a place booked for less than two weeks, reservation for the second week in October, and they refused to issue me a full refund. That's right, I cancelled seven (7) months before my actual reservation, only had the placed booked for less than two weeks in March, and they refused to issue me a full refund citing a $300 "service fee." Also, I'm yet to receive the other $200 from my initial $500 deposit that they said they would refund.

Do NOT rent from any of the places I mentioned above, they are all the same people. I have no idea why they have so many aliases unless they all rip people off all of the time like they did me.

People that say they want to give back to the community but don't have enough time blow my mind. Can some people truly not make time, maybe, but here's something to consider:

I have a 7-year old son that I home school, planning a wedding, I'm a publicist in the sports & entertainment industry, appear on TV & radio shows which take prep time, run 9 websites that I do the development of and provide content for, I'm putting together a travel baseball team, manage 122 Twitter Accounts, 21 Facebook Accounts, 18 Instagram Accounts, 12 Google+ Accounts, and still make the time to be the Vinton Booster Club's Director of Tee-Ball and be the Head Coach of the GSA Red Sox Coach Pitch Team.

Recreation sports requires volunteers. If there are no volunteers to help with children's sports, then there won't be any youth sports for your child to play. If you want your child to be able to play a sport through parks and rec., then you need to help anyway you can. We can accomplish more together than we can as individuals or even as individual recreation clubs.
