A rainy day on the farm is still a good day on the farm 🌧️🐄
We spent Saturday at Curtin Farms Fest in York County, and despite the cool, rainy weather, we had the best time!
We shopped local makers throughout the farm, ducked into barns when the rain picked up, took a hayride and got to meet some of the farm's newest baby calves.
There were handmade rugs woven right here in York County, flowers from Indigo Iris, jewelry and home goods made from silverware, soaps, chocolates, ceramics and more.
Plus music, food trucks, pumpkin decorating, farm animals and plenty of puddles for the kids to splash in.
And since today is National Farmers Day, it's a good opportunity to recognize the people whose work continues no matter what the forecast looks like.
Farmers work through the rain, heat, cold, wind and everything else Mother Nature throws their way. The animals still need feeding. The crops still need tending. The work doesn't stop.
So when our local farms open their gates and invite us in, I hope we'll keep showing up for them, even when the forecast isn't perfect.
