Yesterday, your Rockaway Beach Firefighters had the opportunity to partner with SSW Consulting as we began an important strategic planning process focused on the future of emergency services in our community.

Together, we reviewed our progress since the 2018 Strategic Plan, discussed current operational realities, and examined the trends, risks, and opportunities that will influence emergency service delivery over the next five years.

The workshop also focused on developing a shared vision for the future of Rockaway Beach Fire Rescue and identifying the level of service we want to provide to our residents and visitors. By prioritizing the initiatives that matter most, we can ensure our department is investing its time, resources, and energy into the actions that will have the greatest impact on our community.

We appreciate SSW Consulting for facilitating these discussions and helping guide our team through this important planning process. The work we do today will help shape a stronger, more resilient Rockaway Beach Fire Rescue for years to come.

ANNOUNCEMENT📣 We’re launching a new free recreational permit program for Hampton forestlands in Oregon and southwest Washington! Beginning June 8, 2026, a free permit will be required for recreational access in those areas.

These lands have long been open for public recreation, and this new permit system will help us share timely information about access conditions, closures, safety considerations, and expectations for responsible use.
