"Being scared of heights I thought why not go rappelling!!! They literally talk you through it and make it such a great time! Best adventure in Hocking Hills…. Can’t wait to come back again and experience some of the other activities they offer and of course rappell again!"

We get this question fairly often, will I be scared?....and for some it's a bigger concern than others for sure. It was cool to see Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve on this list of 10 epic hikes. After doing several of these, it would be one of the easier ones. Great views at Conkles for sure. It doesn't compare to Angel's Landing at Zion NP but it is beautiful especially in the fall. Love seeing the multiple waterfalls in the Conkles Hollow Gorge below in the winter and spring. The magic is here at High Rock Adventures and all around us in the Hocking Hills. Waterfalls typically flow January-May and sometimes into the summer. This year we had waterfalls well into July. At High Rock Adventures-Hocking Hills Ecotours - Nature Rocks!
We opened our amazing property in 2016, founded by an Ecotourism leader and teacher, who taught for many years at a regional college, after being a guide and tourism manager earlier in life. The idea is and was, let’s provide a place where people can have fun exploring nature sustainably with a guide to show them many of the wonders of the Hocking Hills and our unique and vibrant Ecosystem.
We currently offer two different Ecotours, one a nature tour with an awesome twist include a few rock challenges (our Natural High Ecotour), the other a focus on the edible and medicinal plants of Ohio and the Hocking Hills. Additionally we offer our One-of-Kind Rock Challenge Tour that includes 11 challenges from boulding-style climbs and scrambles, to rock squeezes, crawls, skybridges, and traverses. We also offer the very popular Cliff-top Rock Rappelling including a beautiful Rock Canyon and Massive Overhang that allows you to flip upside down near the bottom of the rappel, if you dare. Additionally, we have very cool and unique Rock Climbing for various levels from beginner to advanced. You can also combine any of our tours, add a climb or rappel to a tour, or add a Zipline Tour with our neighbors just two miles away, Hocking Hills Canopy Tours. We also offer full day Climbing and Rappelling Tours on request. We also offer customized tours, private tours, and off-site tours throughout the Hocking Hills.
Reservations are required, we do accept walk-ins based on availability.
When we out giving tours or when we do not have tours scheduled, we typically will not be in the office. All tours are available to book online. Most require a 24 or 48 hour notice. If you just found us and want a tour the same day, give us a call or message us here on facebook we check it often. We normally need to know by 10-11am at the latest, for same day tours.
Prices range from $60 to $75 for Eco-Nature and Eco-Adventure Tours. Climbing and Rappelling tours from $90, children 15 and under receive a discount. Group and family discounts are offered with numbers as few as 5-6 people. We do strongly suggest having advance reservations on all tours. The entire 2019 season is available to book on our website and group rates are available online as well.
