I just got back a few days ago from our family vacation on the Disney Destiny and I have some thoughts on this ship and family cruising in general…
First, summer cruising is BUSY! Our ship was at 95% capacity and at times, especially around lunch time, you could tell just how full the ship was.
If you love villains, the Disney Destiny is definitely for you! From Malificent, Dr. Facilier, Loki and Cruella de Vil, there is always a villain lurking somewhere 😈
With so much to do, you get to decide how busy or not you want to be. Trivia, stage shows (Hercules is AMAZING 🤩), adult only bars and sun decks to the pools, character meet and greets, first run movies or shopping, there is something to do from sun up to sun down! ☀️🌙
Late dining with younger kids was not as bad as I expected. Some days we had the kids take a mid-day nap and eat a light snack before dinner to get them through dinner and into the kids club, while other days they powered through till dinner and then headed to the kids club while we enjoyed the remainder of our meal. 🍽️ The dine and play option for kids is a great perk for families on a Disney Cruise and we took full advantage on this sailing.
Lastly, if concierge is in your budget, book it! This was our first time staying concierge level, and from the planning stage to disembarking the ship (which was really hard for us to want to leave this trip 😭), the first added benefits and inclusions while on board were worth the price in my opinion.
If you’ve ever thought of a Disney Cruise (or a family cruise on another line), send me a message and let’s chat to discuss and plan your next family vacation 🚢
