Well…while I currently live in Goliad, Rockport is my hometown. If you have not been to Rockport before I describe it as a Little Coastal New England Town in the Texas Coast!
An eclectic art community, birding, photography opportunities around every corner, and of course fishing!
The shops downtown are as varied as any you would hope to experience in a city. My favorite is Rowdy Maui, found towards the Southern end of the Main Drag. Be ready to wonder where all those creative juices came from. Kacie Kretch and hubby Rooster are fun artists!
Texas By Design is another favorite for finding awesome Magellan and Columbia shirts with gorgeous custom embroidered designs.
The new Rockport Art Center will take you on a tour of all kinds of wonderful pieces from clay to oils! Enjoy!
There are wonderful galleries with local art as well as some coffee shops and a new Tea Room opening up soon. Park and pop in when something catches your eye!
Eating in Rockport-Fulton covers every possible cuisine to be found in a coastal community which is a tourist hot spot.
Ngo’s - Vietnamese American
Good all round menu
Paradise Keys - Seems to be where lots of folks take friends and family. Views and food are good.
Pier 77 - Exceptionally good but pricey. We go for special occasions.
Old Fulton Seafood Cafe & Steak - Really good but a special place for us!
To purchase fresh shrimp check out Flower’s in Church Street.
To check out:
The Big Tree - in Lamar
Schoenstadt - in Lamar
Maritime Museum
Fulton Mansion
Of course the Rockport Beach!!!
