My sister has been working hard over the years, to bring a viable first aid station to Monhegan Island. She and her team of volunteers are conducting a capital campaign to purchase a permanent year-round home for the First Aid Station and for housing the volunteers who provide health services throughout the summer. The upstairs will be an apartment and the downstairs will be a much more substantial first aid station.
Securing a permanent home is essential to the long-term sustainability of their services and expanding medical services into the winter months for Monhegan’s year-round community.
Many well known artists go to Monhegan to paint. There is also a significant year-round population.
Next week, they are holding an important fundraiser during which time some of their artwork will be auctioned. You can also pre-bid! Check out the website: https://docontherockmonhegan.com/.
