Following our pre-camp site inspection and review and approval of our Emergency Action Plans, Camp Aranzazu officially received our 2026 license from the Texas Department of State Health Services. When new licensure requirements were introduced this year, our team was ready and had full confidence in our ability to meet these new conditions. Because Camp Aranzazu has been accredited by the American Camp Association since opening in 2006, high safety standards have been built into our everyday operations. Our continued accreditation by the ACA offers a nationally recognized set of standards to adopt, a peer-reviewed process of our own policies and procedures, and a community of experts in the camping industry.
Safety has always been our top priority at Camp Aranzazu. While we love seeing marshmallows fly across the field and campers zipping through the air, our team understands these fun experiences aren’t possible without the trust of our partners and campers’ families to provide a safe space at Camp Aranzazu.
We are constantly evolving to better protect our campers and staff, and this year, our team has implemented several infrastructure upgrades in alignment with the new state licensure requirements:
- Upgraded Connectivity: We installed and activated high-speed fiber and backup internet. This provides more reliable communication during emergencies and streamlines our administrative operations.
- Enhanced Visibility: We added new lighting along all paved pathways to ensure safe navigation throughout camp after dark.
- Expanded Communication: Our new PA system reaches every cabin, allowing for immediate, camp-wide notifications.
We never take for granted the trust our partners and campers’ families place in our team. If you have questions regarding our emergency protocols, please reach out to our team directly—we are always happy to share the efforts we take to keep campers safe.
Here’s to our 20th summer of fun (and safe) camping at Camp Aranzazu!
