The Pandas are back!!!! We were thrilled to get a preview of Boo Li and Qing Boo at the National Zoo. They will be introduced to the public this week on January 24. So nice to have Pandas back in DC.

Today I was lucky enough to visit The People’s House, a White House Experience on its opening day. It is truly a worthwhile and informative exhibition about the White House with interactive exhibits, historical context, presidential trivia, WH Staff stories and plenty of photo ops. It is free but you need timed passes to enter. I highly recommend it for ages 14 and up. Not great for young children.

I spent the afternoon at Hillwood Museum and Gardens and was overwhelmed by the beautiful azaleas, tulips and orchids. Marjorie Merriweather Post certainly knew how to please the senses in her gardens!

Have I told you how much I love Spring in DC? Every week something new is in bloom and the colors and scents are intoxicating. These were taken on a brief walk around Kalorama today.

Beyond Granite was a temporary exhibit on the National Mall this summer. I hope it returns every year as it is a beautiful addition to our stately monuments and memorials

Had a spare few days in DC so I visited some of my favorite spots. August is a great time to come to DC as there are WAYYY less people than the rest of the year!
