Learning the traditions is one thing… getting to experience them is something completely different.

After spending time learning about South Asian weddings and becoming certified, we had the opportunity to experience some of the beautiful traditions and celebrations firsthand.

From the energy of the Baraat, to a cocktail hour, incredible food, music, and dancing. It was such an amazing way to see everything we’ve been learning come to life.

And this was only PART 1!

There is so much more to a South Asian wedding celebration than I could ever fit into one reel.

I am South Asian Wedding Certified.

And clearly, I’m a little excited about it!

Destination weddings are so much more than choosing a beautiful resort and booking rooms. Every culture, tradition, and celebration deserves to be understood, respected, and thoughtfully planned.

I’m so excited to continue expanding my knowledge and now officially add South Asian Wedding Certified to my training! And yes… I absolutely took the opportunity to celebrate in a saree.

Because when you trust me with one of the biggest celebrations of your life, I want to know the details that matter.

Sometimes you have to experience it yourself to truly understand what’s possible for your clients.

From a beautiful oceanfront setting and incredible tablescapes to live entertainment and a night ending under the fireworks…these are the moments that give me SO many ideas for destination weddings.

Seeing the venues in person, tasting the food, experiencing the service, and watching how an event actually flows is such an important part of what I do as a travel advisor and destination wedding planner.

Because when my couples ask, “But what could our wedding actually look like there?” I want to be able to answer from experience.

And let’s just say…my wedding-planning brain was working overtime all night.
