Made it just in time for this crazy beautiful sunset!! We’re here for 2 weeks to do some cleaning, small projects and landscaping… I already know I don’t want to go home lol!!! Nothing beats eating Waves Deli sandwiches and fries while looking out to that sunset!

Ok we are looking for some advice from you all, but especially from those of you who have stayed here before. We switched the game room from the shipwatch on the 4th floor down to the 1st floor bedroom just off the pool deck area. The 1st floor has a master bathroom that everyone uses while in the pool. The shipwatch bathroom is down 1 floor off the living room area. We love having a full fridge in that 1st floor bedroom, and everyone walks through there to get to the pool…I guess our concern is would that bother people having that be a king size bedroom again with a fridge in it and people walking through all the time while using the pool? And with the 4th floor it would be more private but there’s no door so the noise from the living room area does travel upstairs to the shipwatch. Should we switch them back and put the king bedroom back down on 1st floor keep the fridge in the corner by the sliding door…& move the day bed with trundle back upstairs and set it up more like a game room in the shipwatch?

Had a great time on Orcacoke Island for the day! Highly recommend going if you haven’t gone before. It’s about an hour south of Rodanthe, then about an hour on the ferry. We ate at Howard’s Pub…found all our colleges except Gannon University, guess we’ll be buying a banner/flag to take down for them to hang up! We found Clarion University, IUP, Akron Zips, and Pitt! And our friends gave them a Purdue one last year to hang up! Fun place to eat! Can’t wait to go back!🏝️

Love the bigger table this year!! We can get all 14 people around it for game nights if wanted lol! Having a great trip!

Took the jeep out yesterday and just made it off the beach before the skies opened up, but got caught in the rain airing up the tires 😂 But man what a fun day!!! Highly recommend renting a jeep and driving on the beach! It’s been fun having our friends from Wisconsin here with us this trip!!

Yesterday and today rained a lot but was pretty nice late afternoon. Definitely wasn’t the best weather, but we all made the best of it. Rt 12 closed down today around 10-ish until 3:15…I can’t lie I was a little nervous it wasn’t going to open and we’d be stuck here a little longer😜 (oh darn lol!) Everyone left early this am, but my daughter, her friend and I stayed. When the rain stopped they went to the beach, pool, hot tub and went kayaking. I’d say it was a pretty good week! My friends are renting the house this week then we’ll be back August 1st-8th! We can’t wait to come back!

Added 2 rocking chairs to the 3rd floor deck, another polywood chair on the 4th floor deck with foot rest & a table. The goal is to have everything on the 3rd and 4th floor decks be polywood or the heavy duty plastic chairs like the rockers.
