Round Lake Area Garden Club Join our club if you are interested in horticulture, permaculture, food forests, & edible gardening. Come for a visit; stay as a member.

The Round Lake Area Garden Club (RLAGC) was founded in 2016 as a program of the Round Lake Area Library (RLAL). The RLAGC decoupled from the RLAL to organize as a non-profit 501(c)(3) in 2023. We offer programs for beginning gardeners as well as experienced gardeners. The Club’s mission is to welcome all gardeners and foster friendships. We share knowledge and resources while encouraging interest

in and access to gardening. We strive to expand plant diversity, improve local ecosystems and increase food security. Our vision is to supply all gardeners with tools, knowledge and confidence to meet their gardening goals. We offer unique programs and projects that attract members from not only the Round Lake Area, but also throughout Lake County and Southern Wisconsin such as our Food Forest, Seed Library and Seed Sharing Events, and Plant Swaps and Giveaways. We hold Monthly General Membership Meetings and annual fundraisers such as a Plant Sale. . Membership Year: Commences January 1
Membership Fee: Annual dues are $10 (not pro-rated)

In-person meetings are held on the third Sunday.

Thank you to this wonderful community for supporting our plant sale! It was a huge success and allows us to continue to build our seed, plant and resource distribution programs. Our members did the bulk of the growing (and they did an amazing job) but we’d like to extend a special thank you to wonderful partners like the Round Lake Area Public Library for allowing us to use the space and to CLC Grows for donating a large selection of tomatoes, pepper and herbs. And Local Harvest Herbs and Produce who had amazing prices for plugs and then just donated a few plants just because we asked. We are so grateful to all of you.

A HUGE Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers!

What an incredible work day at the Avon Township Community Food Forest & Garden! We are blown away by the dedication and hard work of every single person who showed up and got their hands dirty with us.

Here’s what we accomplished thus far:

🥕 Harvested 42 POUNDS of fresh produce ready to give back to our community
🌳 Completed planting Phase One of the Community Food Forest
🍅 Planted 20+ tomato plants
🫑 Planted 30 pepper plants
🧅 Put in 120 onions
🥒 And so much more — carrots, beans, eggplant, cucumber, and squash are all in the ground!

None of this happens without YOU. Every volunteer who showed up, dug in, and gave their time is making a real difference in the lives of our neighbors. This garden belongs to all of us, and days like today remind us exactly why we do this work.

If you haven’t had a chance to get involved yet, we’d love to have you join us at a future work day. Stay tuned for upcoming dates — there’s always more growing to do!

Okay! It’s a wrap for our workday. There are plants left. Some really good tomatoes and soooo much more. Between air conditioner and umbrellas around the back. Be kind. Be respectful and don’t take plants from the community garden area— there are cameras!

Okay! We are nearing the final hour-which is fire sale time. All veggies, herbs annuals and patio pots 1/2 off. Also please note that we will not be placing plants on the berm for free after the sale this year. We will be having an event tomorrow at Avon township with select free plants. Come and join us tomorrow but definitely today for some fantastic deals!!!
