Last night, I hopped aboard a plane to rediscover me. 💜

This year marks my 50th birthday—and for the first time ever, I’ll be celebrating it thousands of miles away from my family, friends, and familiar routines.

I’ll land in Australia on the day I was born… solo, after crossing continents and time zones, with nothing but a carry-on and the courage to begin my next chapter.

This isn’t just a birthday trip. It’s a self-discovery sabbatical.

As a travel entrepreneur, I’ve spent years crafting dream experiences for others. And while I love what I do, the truth is—burnout is real.

Somewhere along the way, I lost pieces of myself to the hustle. My health. My joy. My spark. So I’ve decided to do what I encourage my clients to do every day: disconnect, reflect, and pour back into myself.

This cruise is my personal love letter—a gift of time, peace, and permission to dream again. Ten sea days to rest. Ports of call to inspire. And moments in between to breathe, to be, and to reimagine what the next 50 years of my life might look like.

I’m not just going to see the world—I’m hoping to see myself, fully, again.

If you've ever felt like you’ve been running on empty while filling everyone else’s cup, I hope my journey reminds you it’s okay to pause. You deserve restoration too.

Just Another Day in the Life of a Traveling Unicorn…

During a recent tour of the DMZ in Seoul, I had an unexpected main character moment—and not the kind I signed up for! While exploring this historically significant site with my son and a fellow traveler from Spain, we suddenly became very popular with a group of tourists.

At first, I thought it was just a coincidence… until we started getting pulled—yes, linked-arm-and-held-in-place kind of pulled—into random group photos. “Smile!” they said, while pointing to a camera we didn’t know existed two seconds earlier.

Apparently, we were the unofficial stars of their vacation albums thanks to a little thing called melanin magic.

The grand finale? I made a slick getaway just before another group could lock me in place for a photo op. Sadly, my son and our new travel buddy weren’t as lucky—I even managed to capture video evidence of the moment they were claimed like collector's items.

After days of unpredictable weather, today blessed us with the absolute best conditions of the trip. And let me tell you—the real blessing? The life-changing ramen I had at the market. Y’all, I could happily extend my stay just for another bowl. No exaggeration.

It’s time for the much-anticipated room tour and first impressions of my stay at The Ambassador Seoul, Pullman in South Korea!

My room featured a partial city view, and let me tell you—nothing beats popping open the window for a refreshing breath of crisp Seoul air.

Now, if you thought the bidet situation in Paris had me in a chokehold, let me introduce you to its worthy rival. The top contender here at the Pullman? A bidet with heated seats that might just have me extending my stay indefinitely.

The bed? Absolute cloud nine. The pillows alone have me dreading the fact it's almost time to check out.

Day 1 in Seoul was nothing short of an adventure! Where do we even begin?

Our journey kicked off with a slight delay at DFW, where we met up with our fellow travelers. Two hours behind schedule, we finally touched down in Seoul, met our driver, and took in a quick “fishbowl” glimpse of the city before diving into the first must-do on my list—tasting the legendary "Prada" Korean Fried Chicken experience.

Well… let’s just say local maps had other plans. A slight detour later, we found ourselves at an entirely different spot, but hey—beer and Korean fried chicken? Still a win!

When life says, “Your flight’s canceled,” Paris says, “Stay a little longer, darling.”

Technically, it was British Airways, but you get the point.

Thanks to a little unexpected delay, I finally got to wander beyond the Galeria shops by my hotel and soak in more of what this stunning city has to offer—even with world leaders and lockdowns shaking things up.

Paris may have been gridlocked with motorcades and security, but that didn’t stop me from squeezing out some magic in the City of Light. From charming streets to breathtaking views, tonight proved that a canceled flight doesn’t have to cancel the adventure.

So here’s to rolling with the punches and making the most of every moment. After all, a canceled flight doesn’t cancel the adventure—it just adds an extra chapter.

Bienvenue à the Maison Delano Paris! Now, you know I usually do my first impressions when I walk in, but listen, I’ve been living my best Parisian life, so this is more of a ‘lived-in luxury’ review. Let’s dive in!”

This room is très magnifique—chic, modern, and giving effortless elegance. The comforter? A little extra rouge courtesy of last night’s cabernet, but don’t worry, it was pristine when I arrived!

Housekeeping wanted to switch it out, but I said, ‘Non, merci!’ This wine-stained linen tells a story of indulgence—exactly what Maison Delano is about!”
