✨ Sometimes the “why” behind a trip is the best place to start.

Maybe it’s a memory, a family story, a place someone you love talked about, or something you’ve always wanted to experience for yourself.

When I know that part, it helps me research with more purpose.

I’m not just looking for a trip that checks the boxes. I’m trying to find the one that feels like what you’ve been dreaming about.

That’s the part I love about travel planning.

Helping bring the “why” behind the trip to life!

This week’s Tuesday Tastebud Tease is all about fried catfish. 😄

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, catfish was not something my family ate.

My grandpa used to take us out on the lake to fish for rainbow trout, and later in the day we’d fish off the dock and catch catfish. In my mind, trout was for eating… and catfish was the secret garden fertilizer according to him.

So for years, catfish was one of those foods I mostly avoided unless it showed up on my plate and I had to be polite.

Then I moved to Arkansas.

And somewhere along the way, crispy fried catfish with hushpuppies and coleslaw started winning me over.

Now? I order it willingly. Growth, right? 😄

🐟 Have you ever had a food you had to “grow into”?

June is not just “summer vacation month.”

It’s also puffins in Scotland, midnight sun in Norway, an Inca festival in Peru, kayaking in orca country, and yes… bathtubs racing down Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs. 😂

Some trips are about the destination.
Some are about the timing.
And sometimes, the timing is what makes the destination even more fun.

Hot Springs friends — who’s going to Running of the Tubs next weekend?

America is turning 250, and I think that’s a pretty good reason to get out there and see America the Beautiful. 🇺🇸

The big landmarks, yes.
But also the small towns, national parks, coastlines, music, food, and stories that make each region its own.

And honestly, there’s a lot to be said for having the details handled while you just enjoy the experience, hear the stories, and take it all in.

Collette has been guiding people across the United States for over 100 years, with tours that highlight history, culture, nature, and those little “I didn’t know that” moments along the way.

No better time to start dreaming about where America 250 could take you.

🇺🇸 Let me know in the comments below where in America you’ve always wanted to explore!

Some trips are easier to imagine when you realize you don’t have to figure out every little piece yourself.

CIE Tours has guided vacations, small-group options, custom private driver trips, group travel, and even walking & hiking adventures in places like Ireland, Scotland, Britain, Iceland, Italy, and Spain.

I especially like this for people who want the history, stories, scenery, and local flavor… without having to drive, map everything out, or wonder what they’re missing.

There are also some limited-time offers right now, including private driver savings, 2027 early booking options, and select last-minute guided tour deals.

If Ireland, Britain, Italy, Iceland, Spain, or Portugal has been floating around in your mind, this might be worth a look.

Family trips do not always have to look like theme parks, beach houses, or “everybody pile in the car and hope for the best.”

Sometimes the best family memories come from the places where kids can step into the story — and the grown-ups get to enjoy it right along with them.

That is what makes trips like this so fun for multi-generational travel. The kids get imagination and adventure. Parents get smoother logistics. Grandparents get to watch the moments unfold without having to plan every detail.

Venice becomes more than canals when every bridge, boat, and hidden corner feels like part of the adventure.

Rome becomes more than ruins when kids can actually step into Gladiator School near the Colosseum.

Around our house, we jokingly called it the Triple F: Forced Family Fun. 😂

But honestly? Those are usually the moments everyone ends up remembering.

A different kind of summer vacation?
Absolutely.

And maybe the best kind of Triple F there is.
