🍂🐴 One Last Hoorah Before Winter! 🐴🍂
Yesterday we headed out for another adventure in the saddle, soaking up these beautiful fall days while we still can! With winter creeping closer, we wanted to make the most of the sunshine and enjoy one more hoorah before the weather takes a turn. 🤎🍁
But don't hang up those riding boots just yet! Echoing Hooves Adventures isn't done for the season! 💜💙
Winter might be knocking on the door, but there are still opportunities to get out there and enjoy time with horses!
🐴 Riding Lessons — Keep learning, building confidence, and strengthening that horse-and-rider partnership.
🌲 Trail Rides — We're still exploring the trails as weather and trail conditions allow! If Mother Nature gives us a window, you can bet we'll do our best to make the most of it.
🏠 Limited Barn Rental Access — When the weather turns and outdoor riding isn't an option, we may have limited opportunities to utilize an indoor barn space, depending on availability.
The weather may dictate when and where we ride, but that doesn't mean the adventures have to stop! 🐎

🌦️ Looks like Mother Nature is about to change her mind about letting us play outside Sunday… so we’re moving the adventure to SATURDAY! 🤠🐴
The weather is about to close in on us, which means we’re taking advantage of the good stuff while we can!
🏔️ THIS SATURDAY — SPEARFISH! 🏔️
Come spend the day horseback in the beautiful Black Hills, soaking up the views, getting a little dirt on your boots, and making the kind of memories you’ll be talking about long after the ride is over. ❤️
Because let’s be honest… nobody ever gets old and wishes they had spent more time sitting at home. 😉
After the ride, we’ll head over to The Stadium for lunch, because a good horse ride absolutely deserves good food afterward! 🍔🍟

🐴🐄 FROM TRAIL RIDES TO MOVING COWS… WE DO A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING! 🤠
Friday was our first attempt at moving cattle to their new pasture. We got them about halfway there before the cows decided they had other plans! 😂 Between two bulls fighting, a calf getting a wild hair, and a quarter of the herd taking off, we decided to call it a day and leave them in the pasture.
Today was round two… and thankfully, it went MUCH better! 🙌🐄
Spirit was an absolute gentleman on Friday, but today? Apparently, he decided he was a dancing horse instead! 🤣 All that prancing had me laughing. I guess somebody was feeling extra spicy today! 🐎💃
And the best part? We got back out there, tried again, and made much better progress! Sometimes you just have to laugh, regroup, and try again.
And guess what? Moving cattle is yet ANOTHER service offered by Echoing Hooves Adventures! 😆
From trail rides and riding lessons to horse training, c**t starting foundations, and now helping move cattle, we're all about putting horses to work, building confidence, and embracing whatever adventure comes our way!
You never quite know what the day will bring around here, but one thing is for sure… life is never boring when horses and cattle are involved! 😂🤠

🐴 LITTLE THINGS NOW. BIG CONFIDENCE LATER. 🐴
This little guy is continuing to impress me! 💙
Today, we worked on learning to stand tied while I cleaned pens, and he did AMAZING!
He stood tied while I went about my chores, learned to give to pressure, and handled himself like a champ. The only time he pulled back was when Prince decided to be a bit of a bully over the fence. 🙄😂 Apparently, Prince wasn't feeling particularly welcoming today!
We also picked up all four feet again, and he stood there like an absolute gentleman. 🥹❤️
So why do we work on these things with young horses?
🐴 Learning to stand tied helps prepare them for everyday handling, grooming, and farrier visits.
🐴 Learning to give to pressure lays the groundwork for leading and responding to cues from their handler.
The goal isn't to rush a young horse or expect perfection. It's to introduce new skills patiently, build trust, and set them up for success as they grow.
This little guy is learning that human handling can be a positive experience, and we're building that foundation one step at a time. 💜

September… what a month. 🥹🐴
When I look back at everything that happened this month, I honestly have to stop and say, WOW.
September was the month Echoing Hooves Adventures started feeling a little less like an idea and a whole lot more like a REAL business.
We rode A LOT. 😂
We explored new trails.
We took horses and riders through firsts.
We had a few “well, that wasn't on the itinerary” moments. 😆
We met some amazing people.
We gained followers.
We had new inquiries.
And most importantly, we had people actually trusting me to give them an adventure on horseback.
This month included some pretty epic rides — including a 21.6-mile, 7 hour 41 minute adventure, Custer to Mount Rushmore, Burnt Hollow, Spearfish, and our Beulah ride with three paying customers who were already talking about doing it again. ❤️
Silver crossed bridges for the first time. His owner loped for the first time. We put miles on horses, worked through new experiences, and learned something from just about every ride.
And then there's the number I still can't quite believe…
90 followers! 🎉
When I started Echoing Hooves, I had no idea where this road would lead. I just knew I wanted to create the kind of experience I wish I'd had when I was first learning to ride — something more than simply sitting on a horse and following the horse in front of you.
I wanted people to learn, gain confidence, experience the trail, connect with their horse, and have an actual ADVENTURE.
September showed me that there are people who want exactly that. 🥹💜
This month wasn't all sunshine and smooth trails, either. There were cancellations, ghosted inquiries, sore horses, second-guessing, and plenty of moments where I wondered if I was crazy for trying to make this work.
But I kept going.
And somewhere between the miles, the muddy boots, the horse hair, the laughs, the nervous moments, and the “well… let's see what happens” moments…
I realized something.
We're doing it.
Echoing Hooves Adventures is growing. 🐴💜
And I'm just getting started.
Thank you to every single person who has followed, shared a post, booked a ride, brought their horse, trusted me with their experience, or simply cheered me on.
Adventure in every stride.
And September sure gave us plenty of strides. 🤠
Here's to October. Let's see where the trail leads. 🐴💜🌄
