Our page is about telling the story of the Civil Rights Movement through collecting, maintaining archives, documenting information about the Civil Right Movement, to interpret the life and legacy of Mrs. Our page is also about the various activities sponsored by the organization; such as FLH Black History program in February, FLH Scholars' Award to graduating seniors from Ruleville Central High S

chool in May, the Annual FLH Birthday Celebration near October 6, the sponsored tours of the Garden & Museum year round, activities sponsored for the children of Rujeville, such as giving book bags, and the FLH Scholars' Award Banquet in December. Our page is to let the public know what is going on at the Garden & Museum, and to encourage support for the programs and work of the organization.

These are some of the pictures taken at 2017 FLH Scholars' Award Banquet, held December 2, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at the Fannie Lou Hamer Multi-Purpose Complex. The program was very enjoyable with the participation of young people, the speaker Attorney Jaribu Hill, scholars award winners, visitors, and friends, thanks for coming.

On Saturday, December 2, 2017, the Fannie Lou Hamer Memorial Garden & Museum Foundation members presented its 3rd Annual Scholars' Award Banquet. Three students from Ruleville Central High School were granted their financial scholarships.
The dynamic speaker was Jaribu Hill, is a civil and human rights attorney and Executive Director of the Mississippi Workers’ Center for Human Rights (MWCHR), an organization which uses a human rights organizing framework to fight discrimination in housing, employment and voting. The MWCHR is a worker advocacy organization that provides organizing support, legal representation and training for low-wage, non-union workers in the state of Mississippi. Through direct action campaigns,
Youths of Ruleville and Surrounding ares were a part of the program. The program was enjoyable and a success. Thank to all those that participated in this great event.

Hello graduates of Ruleville Central High School who came home for Homecoming, I know you had a good time seeing classmates and friends.

The Fannie Lou Hamer Memorial Garden & Museum Foundation is sponsoring its FLH Scholars Award Banquet December 16, 2007 where we give scholarships to three students that graduated in May and have complete one semester in college.

You can help us make this a successful activity for some students next year by making donation of $1.00 or more. If you would like donate after you return home you may do that by making checks payable to the FLH Memorial Garden & Museum and mail to P. O. Box 236, Ruleville, MS 38771.

Remember these funds will only be used for scholarships to help a graduate from Ruleville Central High School continue their education.

These are pictures taken the day after the Fannie Lou Hamer the 100th Birthday Celebration at William Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where Mrs. Hamer political journey started.

Since Mrs. Hamer was interested in the right to vote and human rights, it seem political correct to have a program that focused on voting. This program was sponsored by the Sunflower County Democratic Executive Committee, of which Mr. David Rushing is president.

Mr. Charles McLaurin was the gust speaker, and The Young Steppers of Indianola performed which was excellent.

The program interesting and informative.
