Happy Labor Day!

Before creating Calla Lily Adventures & Travel, I spent many years working in the construction industry in association support, working alongside the people and companies who keep this industry moving. I had the opportunity to see firsthand the dedication, long hours, hard work and pride that go into building something — both literally and professionally.

Now, I get to help people plan adventures, create memories and experience a little more of the world. A well-deserved break for those that work hard!✈️

Today, I’m taking a moment to appreciate all of the people who work hard every day — in construction, travel, hospitality, healthcare, small businesses, and every industry in between.

Before I recommend a vacation, I ask questions. A LOT of them. 😂

-Where are you flying from?
-Who is traveling?
-What kind of vacation do you actually enjoy?
-Do you want relaxation or adventure?
-How important is the beach?
-Do you want an all-inclusive?
-Do you like excursions?
-Do you want to unpack once?
-What's your budget?
-What's the one thing you absolutely don't want?

Because the “best resort” isn't necessarily the best resort for you.

That's why my planning process starts with you, not a destination.

You might think using a travel advisor means I simply book your flights and hotel.

But that's really just the beginning.

I research destinations, compare options, look at locations, coordinate transportation, find experiences, research restaurants, watch the details, organize your itinerary and help make sure everything works together.

My clients don't just receive a reservation.

More Than a Vacation. A Journey Planned Around You.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared a European adventure through Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Venice, and Paris — but the destinations were only part of the story.

What you saw were the beautiful places.

What you didn’t see was everything happening behind the scenes to make the journey flow.

As a travel advisor, I help take a trip from an idea to a complete, thoughtfully planned experience.

For this itinerary, that meant:

✈️ Finding flights that worked with the overall trip
🚆 Booking trains between destinations
🚗 Arranging a rental car for their time in Tuscany
🏨 Selecting accommodations based on location, comfort, and how they wanted to experience each destination
🚕 Coordinating private transfers and transportation
🎟️ Researching and booking tours and timed-entry experiences
🍝 Recommending restaurants and helping with reservations
🗺️ Providing directions, transportation options, meeting points, and practical tips throughout the trip

But the real value isn't having someone make reservations.

It's having someone look at the entire trip and make sure the pieces make sense together.

-Where should you stay?
-How do you get there?
-Is a train, taxi, private transfer, or rental car the better choice?
-How much time should you allow?
-What needs to be reserved ahead of time?
-And how do you make sure the itinerary doesn't become so packed that you forget to actually enjoy the trip?

That's where I come in!

Picking back up on our European adventure!

It’s been a little while since we last followed my clients’ journey, so if you’re just joining in, be sure to check out the previous posts as we traveled from Rome → Florence → Tuscany → Venice.

Now, we’re ready for the final chapter: Paris!

Leaving Venice was an experience in itself. I arranged a private water taxi to take them from the canal near their accommodations to their departure point, making the transition out of Venice much easier with luggage.

From there, they continued on to Paris by plane — the final destination of their European journey.

For their stay, I selected an apartment in the heart of the Saint-Honoré district, one of the most convenient areas of central Paris.

The location put them within easy reach of:

🌿 Tuileries Garden
🎨 The Louvre
✨ Place Vendôme
🛍️ Rue Saint-Honoré
⛪ Notre-Dame
🌊 The Seine

For a short stay in Paris, location was especially important. I wanted them close enough to walk to many of the places they wanted to experience while still having the space and flexibility of an apartment.

And then it was time to experience Paris.

Their itinerary included some of the city's most iconic sights:

-A visit to Notre-Dame
-The incredible stained glass of Sainte-Chapelle
-An evening around the Eiffel Tower
-Time to explore the Louvre
-Parisian cafés and bakeries
- Wandering through Montmartre
-French dining and neighborhood experiences
-Time along the Seine

Paris was the perfect final chapter to an incredible European adventure — bringing together history, art, food, culture, and those simple moments of wandering that make travel so memorable.
