A GHOSTLY ENCOUNTER is an award winning, non-scripted walking tour that will take you deep into St. George Street, next to the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse, we are central to the most active haunted locations in the Old City. our newest offering. These paranormal investigative sessions are held at some of St. Augustine’s most active paranormal sites. Our professionally licensed guides are paranormal experts, who weave the stories told from one generation to the next about St. Augustine’s strange and difficult past. Our tours are recommended for all ages. Persons with limited mobility will also enjoy our tours. Well behaved and leashed pets are always welcome to join us. This is a walking experience that includes some history and a lot of mystery. As you take your tour, your ghost host will share how to use certain investigative tools that paranormal investigators use in attempts to identify and interact with those who have departed, but refuse to leave.

✨ Meet Dion – A Legend in Storytelling & Entertainment

Dion Moore is a name you won’t forget. With nearly 50 years in the entertainment industry, Dion’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

🎭 From 1978–1987, Dion danced ballet with the Academy of Tidewater Ballet in Norfolk, VA, before moving into the world of professional wrestling with NWA, WCW, and WWF, performing until 1999. His career later took him to Hollywood stunt work, with roles in films like The Patriot alongside Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger, and even a season at Universal Studios Orlando in the Wild Wild West Show.

👻 In 2001, Dion made St. Augustine his home, where he first drove horse and buggies through the historic streets. By 2004, he joined A Ghostly Encounter as a Ghost Storyteller — a role that combined his lifelong love of performance with his passion for history.

💪 In 2020, Dion faced a battle with stage 4 lung cancer. After nearly 5 years of fighting, he is now cancer-free and back to doing what he loves most: sharing unforgettable ghost stories with guests from around the world.

At just 21, Gracie is the youngest member of our Ghostly Encounter team — but don’t let her age fool you. She’s a gifted storyteller and educator who’s been learning from some of the most experienced guides in St. Augustine. Her tours blend accurate history with just the right touch of the paranormal, keeping guests of all ages engaged from start to finish.

When she’s not guiding guests through haunted streets or handling EMF readers, Gracie is inspiring young minds as a field trip guide. She has a natural gift for teaching and making history come alive — a passion she discovered back in eighth grade.

Originally from Auburndale, FL, Gracie moved to St. Augustine when she was nine and considers it her true home. Whether she’s performing on stage in productions like Evita, singing with her family, or leading guests to the city’s most haunted corners, she brings joy, energy, and heart to everything she does.

We’re so proud to have Gracie on our team — her enthusiasm and dedication brighten our days and create unforgettable experiences for every guest she meets. 💜

🕵️‍♂️ Meet Artie, the Sheriff of the Supernatural 🕵️‍♂️
After over 30 years in law enforcement and investigations in New York, Artie relocated to St. Augustine in 2021 with his wife—and they quickly fell in love with the city. A natural storyteller with a passion for the spooky and macabre, Artie found the perfect post-retirement fit as a guide with A Ghostly Encounter and Ancient City Tours.

Artie brings a unique mix of humor, theatrical flair, and historical accuracy to his tours. A lifelong fan of horror, true crime, and local legends, he takes pride in thoroughly researching the ghost stories he shares, ensuring they’re as factual as they are entertaining.

He’s been happily married to his wonderful wife Maureen for nearly 40 years. Together, they’ve raised two amazing sons—and are now proud grandparents, too! His family is his greatest support system, cheering him on as he brings St. Augustine’s haunted history to life.

When he’s not guiding, Artie keeps busy as a drummer with a local Pipes and Drums band, a Freemason, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a rider with the Blue Knights motorcycle club. You might spot him in a kilt at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade or leading a ghost tour in full 1800s attire—derby, cane, and all.
