Travis, Nash and Shepard joined me this week for a double alligator hunt and fishing trip. While the fishing trip on Game On turned out to be a fun family day on the water, the gator hunt the night before was epic, resulting in Shepard bagging a 6f6in starter gator and the combined team catching a 11ft8in bruiser that weighed in at 480.5 lbs. A sunset sport hunt eventually turned into a midnighr trophy hunt! Pictures speak for themselves...

Haha Adai! Guam in the House! Kealii joined me last night for what turned out to be a b of wits and will that spanned four hours and ran the range of equipment and strategies, to include pulling a live gator out of a cave by the tail. Guam holds a special place in my heart as I was stationed there from 1999-2001 at the Naval Hospital and fished me arse off, catching a total of 18 marlin including a 265lb one on a 20ft bayboat alone. The people and the food were amazing and the thought has crossed my mind more than once to move back and end up an old washed up howlie charter boat captain.... before finding my current line of work. The hunt eventually turned into a night hunt from land resulting in a stud of a 7ft7in gator.

My second hunt of the day on Thursday was a freind of a freind who became three new freinds. Charmaine and her husband Brent surprised her 78 y/o mom with a short notice sport gator hunt targeting a 6 footer. The duck w**d had moved away from the western bayou allowing us to see the methane bubbles created by alligators walking across the bottom. So what is the first gator you snag off the bubbles when you are trying to catch a 6 footer....an eleven footer....followed by one of my 12 footers. We got some great pics and after cutting them lose with quickly nabbed a 6ft7in fatty. Charmaine's mom was over the moon, and as she and Brent loaded the gator into the boat, I look over and see the 12 footer we cut loose giving us a quick peak.
