Thank you for visiting the Pirate Lights Facebook site. The Covid and Variants-related Pandemic over the past two years, as well multiple supply chain and shipping issues, have hit all parts of the business world with major difficulties. Pirate Lights has not been exempt. We have been unable to continue with some partsā suppliers or connect with other suppliers and as we were full-time live aboard cruisers ourselves, we have not been able to diligently research or pursue other partsā suppliers. We had pre-made dozens of Pirate Lights and Parrot Units the last time we were in the States during the initial quarantine. However, we have now sold and shipped off the last completed Pirate Lights marine security unit. š
My wife Julie and I made the decision this past Fall to become land based again after years at sea, retiring to a home on the Dutch Antilles Island of Bonaire. Supplier and transport issues aside, we are unable to justify the cost to ship parts here to Bonaire to build our units, or the costs to ship completed units out worldwide.
Needless to say, we are exceptionally proud of the Pirate Lights Marine Security System. For the simplicity of the unit (no pricey internet or satellite systems required; no complicated parts) and the exceptionally reasonable price of the finished product, Pirate Lights have provided innumerable cruisers with an unparalleled sense of security and safety in these turbulent times and in oceans literally around the world. For those who took time to properly install, and to maintain their system, Pirate Lights has provided years of successful operation and peace of mind. We have always prided ourselves on exceptional customer service and have personally spent countless hours on the phone with customers to talk them through their installation and issues, even while cruising international waters full-time ourselves.
Thus, this is our official notice that we are closing down the Pirate Lights Shop. We thank all the customers who have literally made Pirate Lights a success simply via enthusiastic word of mouth. We have never advertised our product with any marketing finesse or diligence, and originally, I, (Jeff), had built the units for my wifeās peace of mind while undertaking our worldwide sailing adventure. But it is onward now to another era and another adventure in our lives.
During these continued turbulent and uncertain times, we wish you peace and faith in the greater good. May the Lord watch over and keep all of you sailors safe as you traverse the worldās oceans.
