🦒🌿 That feeling when it’s your first morning at Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House and you pull open the curtains to see giraffes and zebras standing right outside your window.
I have stayed at every tier of Disney resort over the years and that view still does something to me every single time.
This trip, we stayed Club Level, and everything was so awesome! The lounge covers you from the first cup of coffee through evening desserts and cordials. The concierge team handles things before you can even think to ask. And the resort itself is so thoroughly themed, it feels like you’re actually on the African Savannah.
If Animal Kingdom Lodge has been sitting on your list, whether Club Level or not, fall is one of the best windows to book it. The crowds thin, the weather cools, and the resort experience shines even brighter when the parks aren't at summer capacity.

I don't care what month you're going. I don't care what the forecast says at 8am. At some point between lunch and the evening fireworks, the sky will open up and rain on you.

It's fine. We love it here 😅

Ponchos at the theme parks cost anywhere from $12 to $20 each. For a party of four that's up to $80 for a piece of plastic you'll probably lose by the end of the night.

Instead, pick up a pack of compact travel ponchos before you leave home. They fold into almost nothing, they live in the bottom of your day bag, and they're there when you will inevitably need them.

The good news is that Florida storms roll out just as fast as they roll in, so you're usually back to sunshine within 30 minutes. The trick is just not being soaked when they arrive.

Drop a 🌧️ if the Florida rain has gotten you at least once. It is essentially a rite of passage at this point. 😅

I've got a Virgin Voyages group trip on the books and if these photos tell you anything, it's that Scarlet Night alone is worth the trip!😍🤩💃🏻

Scarlet Night is the signature ship-wide party on Scarlet Lady and there is nothing else like it at sea. The whole ship transforms. Everyone is dressed in red, the energy is completely electric, and at some point you look around and realize this is one of those nights you're going to talk about for years. I got in the pool during Scarlet Night on my last sailing and honestly that is the only correct choice 😂🎉

The rest of the trip matches that energy, but RockStar cabins are a completely different level. Larger staterooms, exceptional service, full size bathrooms. And you're still on a ship where every dinner across all the various restaurants is included, no dress codes, no assigned dining times, no schedule you didn't choose. This is NOT your traditional cruise.

Hero of the Seas is the fourth Icon Class ship, debuting from Miami in August 2027. Nine pools. Twenty-eight dining venues. The Ultimate Family Treehouse, a three-story suite that is exactly what it sounds like. Eight neighborhoods spread across the ship. And every single sailing stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay.

I've sailed the Icon Class and the CocoCay stop alone is worth building a trip around. The overwater bungalows at Perfect Day are in a category of their own. Adults-only, all-inclusive, and built specifically for couples. Every property is different but the consistent thing across all of them is that the standard is genuinely high. This isn't a buffet-and-beach setup. Sandals properties have multiple restaurants, specialty dining options, and a level of service that makes the whole resort feel like it knows why you're there.

Fall and early winter Caribbean is a sweet spot. The summer crowd has cleared, the weather is still beautiful, and the pricing often shifts in ways that make a luxury all-inclusive significantly more accessible. It’s disembarkation day, and none of us are ready to go home yet…. 😭🛳️✨

That's the thing about group sailings that gets me every time. Several days doing everything together, and suddenly it's over and we're all standing there like "why the heck didn't we book a back to back!?"

When everything is handled before anyone steps on board, no one in the group spends a single minute on logistics. No schedules to chase, no reservations to figure out, no one stressed. Everyone just gets to be fully in it together. And then equally devastated when it ends 😅

I sailed Disney Destiny earlier this year and I have been thinking about Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King ever since 🛳️✨

Every Wish-class ship builds its own identity and its own dining concept. On Wish, 1923 is a love letter to classic Disney storytelling. On Treasure, Plaza de Coco earned its theme completely, and the churro bites alone were worth the table. Destiny's Pride Lands took everything the class had built and went further. It is the best Wish-class dining experience I’ve ever had.

The September sailing I have on the calendar is Concierge level, which is a genuinely different way to sail. Priority dining reservations before you're onboard. A dedicated concierge team. Exclusive spaces and elevated service throughout. For milestone trips or anyone who wants the Disney experience with zero planning friction on the ship itself, Concierge makes complete sense.

At Universal Orlando, Horror Nights 35 kicks off even earlier this year. 🎃👻 August 28 is the opening night, the earliest start date in the event's 35-year history. The first haunted house has already been announced and details will keep rolling out through the summer.

HHN nights are separate ticketed events on top of daytime park admission, so knowing how to structure your days and nights makes a real difference.
