🚧 Downtown improvements are officially underway — and St. Croix Falls is OPEN!

Work began today on the WIS 87 resurfacing project through downtown St. Croix Falls. While you may notice construction crews, lane changes and a few pedestrian detours along the way, our downtown shops, restaurants and local businesses remain open and ready to welcome you.

And this project gives us a chance to lean into an even bigger idea for exploring St. Croix Falls:
Park Once. Explore More. 🚲🥾🛍️

We make it easy to leave the car behind and explore more of the city on foot or by bike by connecting St. Croix Falls’ free parking, downtown shops & restaurants, and our parks and trail systems.

Grab a coffee. Browse downtown. Head for the trails. Stop for lunch. Explore the river. Make a day of it — without moving your car from stop to stop.

Throughout construction, WIS 87 will remain open to traffic, with daytime single-lane closures at times. Parking will continue to be available downtown, including stalls on at least one side of WIS 87 during construction.

Downtown is open. The trails are waiting. And there’s more to explore than ever.

FIddlehead Kitchen is open!

We are elated to say that we are OPENING! We have put the finishing touches in the dining room, on the patio, and in the kitchen! So many thanks to Dodge Bros Construction, who has been working tirelessely with us to make this dream a reality. We cannot wait to serve you delicious scratch-made food, prepared with love, and sourced locally. We will officially open our doors Wednesday, August 26th!

Our restaurant hours will be:
Wednesday: Burger Night 4-9pm
Thursday: 11-9pm
Friday: 11-9pm
Saturday 11-9pm
*Kitchen last call will be 8:45pm

Get ready to spend October outside! Registration for the 2026 Mammoth Hike Challenge is OPEN! 🥾🦣🍂

This October, challenge yourself ot experience the best of Wisconsin by hiking 46 miles on the Ice Age Trail and visiting three Trail Communities. Complete the Challenge to earn a limited-edition patch and hiking certificate. Even more bonus mile opportunities are available to help you reach your goal!

Every fall, thousands of hikers from Wisconsin and beyond take on the Mammoth Hike Challenge. Some revisit favorite sections of the Ice Age Trail. Others discover new Trail Communities (including three added for 2026!). Families make memories together, friends challenge one another, and solo hikers find peace among Wisconsin's vibrant fall colors.

All ages and abilities are welcome. 💛💙
