I’m just going to say what a lot of us are quietly thinking: I am officially over Airbnbs and VRBOs.

Paying a $250 "cleaning fee" only to be handed a chore list that includes stripping the beds, running two loads of laundry, and worrying about getting the trash bins to the curb by 7 AM to avoid a penalty fine? No, ma'am. Not on my vacation.

I am drooling over this.

I still cry when I think about it, I get a lump in my throat when someone mentions it, the pain comes up like it wasn’t 25 years ago but very recent.

And then I imagine those 33 crew members aboard American Airlines, and all their family and friends, and colleagues as well as all of the victims of 911 and I know that I’m feeling just a morsel of what they must be feeling today and every day.

My heart and prayers go out to our nation, our beloved nation, that seems so lost right now. Maybe the memory of what happened and reflecting on it will remind us of what a great country we can be when we come together.

When low water forces a mid-cruise detour, you have two choices: panic, or lean into the adventure.

We were supposed to wake up in Koblenz, Germany, but low Rhine water levels redirected our ship to Rotterdam instead.
Unexpected port days can be a bonus as long as you have the right mindset.

That said, navigating European travel disruptions, ship itineraries, and high-end logistics shouldn’t be your full-time job. That’s mine.
