Our region offers a once in a lifetime travel experience focused on outdoor adventure, scenic beauty, and mountain music. Ride your ATVs on one of our five trail systems created by Spearhead Trails, test your limits and enjoy the view. The Heart of Appalachia was created by the Virginia General Assembly in 1993 as the regional authority on travel information for the seven counties of far southwest Virginia and the city of Norton.
