USCG Captain Jon was first introduced to the water during his early years as a scout learning to sail on the Midwest lakes. After graduating college, a career opportunity led him to Florida where he quickly realized the salt air was even more intoxicating than that of the lake! Since that move over 20 years ago, he is still drawn to the water which has led to countless days spent on his boats. At

one point, his children lovingly called him "commodore" because he owned boats. Because of his enthusiasm when it comes to boating, he obtained his Master Captain's license and spends most of his days in the enticing Florida salt air!

It’s almost that time of year again - boat shows, fair winds, beautiful weather and new vessels! We are excited to announce that we are now offering boating instruction!! Captain Jon can teach you how to maneuver any vessel on the water, be that yours or if you’d rather, he can teach you on our 25ft outboard. Learn the ins and outs of motoring, docking, GPS navigation, general waterway rules, knot tying, and so much more!

Beach Day Trip leaves the Port 32 Tierra Verde Marina. The captain will determine which local location will be best for a day at the beach based on weather and tides. These locations may include Shell Key, Egmont Key, Fort Desoto, or Holmes Beach sand bar. Most of these locations are accessible only by boat, allowing crowds to a minimum while really getting to enjoy the Gulf waters. Once anchored, your party will have the opportunity to spend approximately 2 hours off the boat - whether it be splashing in the water, picnicking on the beach, or collecting shells along the sandy shore. Be advised, in order to get to the beach, you will have to depart the boat into the shallow waters and walk to shore. This trip may not be suitable for everyone - should you have questions about suitability, please message us for more information. Duration of the trip - approximately 3-4 hours

Sunset Tour leaves Port 32 Tierra Verde Marina 1.5 hours prior to sunset. You will see beautiful homes, sandy shores, and the Sunshine Skyway light display on the trip out to watch the sun slowly sink into the Gulf of Mexico!
