π£π New womenβs state record on the line! ππ£
The Coastal Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has certified a new womenβs state saltwater angling recordβand itβs a big one! πͺπ
π Congratulations to Chandler Simon of Atlanta, who landed a 3 lb., 6 oz. Florida pompano while fishing Christmas Creek in Camden County on Nov. 25, 2025. That catch officially breaks the previous womenβs record set in 2023! π
Chandler was fishing aboard a charter with Capt. Jeremy Petro of Island Lure Charters and sealed the deal using live shrimp π¦βproof that patience (and good bait!) pays off.
π To celebrate the achievement:
β’ Chandler will receive a state record certificate signed by Gov. Brian Kemp, DNR Commissioner Walter Rabon, and CRD Director Doug Haymans
β’ Her name will appear in the Georgia Hunting and Fishing Regulations Guide
β’ And sheβll be listed on CRDβs state saltwater records webpage for as long as the record stands π
Think youβve got a record fish of your own? π€
