Had a great time showing a new family around Salado today! We explored some of our historic sites, local shoppes, and neighborhoods while they got a feel for what makes our little town so special.

They enjoyed their stay at the historic Inn on the Creek and were even considering whether Salado might be the place they’d like to call home!

A big thank you to Visit Salado, Texas and Deanna Whitson for the recommendation and for helping connect us.

As the weather starts cooling off, it’s the perfect time to get out and explore Salado. Whether you’re considering a move or just want to experience our community like a local, I’d love to show you around!

Founders Day in Salado was well put together!

We loved spending the morning celebrating the history that makes our village so special—from hearing the stories of Salado’s past to the sound of the bagpipes and even getting to cast our vote for our new Scottish Sister City! 🏴

It was also wonderful to see such a great turnout and support from our local and state government leaders. It says a lot about the importance of preserving Salado’s history and celebrating the community we have today.

Such a fun way to celebrate Salado’s heritage, community, and the people who continue to keep its history alive.

Another reason we love calling Salado home!

The best part of giving tours isn’t just sharing Salado’s history—it’s introducing people to the incredible small businesses that make this village so special.

We loved seeing the spotlight on our very own Salado Antique Mall! It’s one of those places where every visit uncovers something new.

If you’re joining us on a Tours Salado adventure, don’t be surprised if we encourage you to leave a little extra room in your car… you never know what piece of history you’ll take home!

Come explore Salado with us, support local, and discover why this little village keeps people coming back again and again. ❤️

Salado is packed with live music this weekend! From Thursday through Monday, you can catch talented local and regional artists all along Salado’s Historic Music Mile.

Grab your friends, support our local venues, enjoy a cold drink, and make a weekend of it. Please share this schedule and tag someone who needs a live music getaway in Salado!

Thank you to the Texas Music Office, Salado Chamber of Commerce, Village of Salado, Salado Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Salado Music Friendly Community Board of Directors for helping support and grow live music in our community.

This project has been made possible (in whole or in part) by a grant from the Texas Music Office, Office of the Governor, from funding provided by sales of the Texas Music branded license plate.

Support local music. Support local venues. We’ll see you in Salado!

✨ One of the things I love most about Salado is that so many businesses tell a story before you ever walk through the door.

Take a look around Main Street and you'll notice that many of the names have deep roots in our village's history:

🏛️ Bar 1859 honors the founding year of Salado and the vision that created Salado College and the village itself.

🍷 Empresario Wines pays tribute to the Texas empresarios (including our very own empresario Sterling Robertson) who helped settle and shape our great state.

🐴 Stagecoach Inn celebrates Salado's days as an important stagecoach stop for travelers crossing Central Texas—a tradition dating back to the 1860s.

It's little details like these that remind me Salado isn't just a place to visit—it's a community that treasures its history while creating new traditions every day.

What's your favorite business name in Salado, and do you know the story behind it? I'd love to hear your favorites! Maybe there's one I haven't discovered yet, and we can all learn something new together.
