Founders Day in Salado was well put together!

We loved spending the morning celebrating the history that makes our village so special—from hearing the stories of Salado’s past to the sound of the bagpipes and even getting to cast our vote for our new Scottish Sister City! 🏴

It was also wonderful to see such a great turnout and support from our local and state government leaders. It says a lot about the importance of preserving Salado’s history and celebrating the community we have today.

Such a fun way to celebrate Salado’s heritage, community, and the people who continue to keep its history alive.

Another reason we love calling Salado home!

Salado is packed with live music this weekend! From Thursday through Monday, you can catch talented local and regional artists all along Salado’s Historic Music Mile.

✨ One of the things I love most about Salado is that so many businesses tell a story before you ever walk through the door.

Take a look around Main Street and you'll notice that many of the names have deep roots in our village's history:

🏛️ Bar 1859 honors the founding year of Salado and the vision that created Salado College and the village itself.

🍷 Empresario Wines pays tribute to the Texas empresarios (including our very own empresario Sterling Robertson) who helped settle and shape our great state.

🐴 Stagecoach Inn celebrates Salado's days as an important stagecoach stop for travelers crossing Central Texas—a tradition dating back to the 1860s.

It's little details like these that remind me Salado isn't just a place to visit—it's a community that treasures its history while creating new traditions every day.
