Does anyone else struggle with booking travel clients, or is it just me? 🤔✈️

Let me break it down…

I’ve had several prospective clients—some repeat offenders—who inquire about cruising on one of the biggest ships, Wonder of the Seas. They want a balcony seaside view for a 7-day sailing out of Port Canaveral or a shorter trip out of Miami… but it HAS to be Wonder of the Seas.

🚨 Here’s the problem:
Finding the cruise? Easy.
But why does it seem like everyone who wants to sail a mega-ship has champagne & Louis XIII expectations… on a Michelob Light budget? 🤦‍♂️

As a travel professional, how do you deal with this? Especially when you KNOW they’re just wasting your time.

It feels like ever since the pandemic, fewer people truly want to travel, and those who do want luxury on a budget that doesn’t match their wish list.

A View Worth the Effort—but Let’s Talk About the Experience

This breathtaking view is from a panoramic cruise tour with Royal Caribbean in St. Thomas. While the scenery is absolutely stunning, I feel it’s important to share some honest feedback—consider it a friendly warning if you’re planning your own adventure.

If you’re traveling to St. Thomas and want to capture unforgettable photos or create lasting memories, I highly recommend booking a private tour guide. Why? Because the standard scenic tours offered through Royal Caribbean—or perhaps their local partners—might not deliver the experience you’re hoping for.

Picture this: 30 people of all sizes crammed into an open-air van, shoulder to shoulder, struggling to maneuver for a decent photo without invading someone else’s personal space. Taking photos felt like a balancing act—one wrong move, and your phone or camera might have gone flying.

While the views were worth it, the discomfort made the journey less enjoyable. If this is the standard approach, both Royal Caribbean and the local tour operators should consider a different setup—perhaps smaller groups or more spacious arrangements. Giving guests the room to enjoy and photograph the beauty of the island without feeling like sardines would make a world of difference.

Private tours may cost a bit more, but trust me, the comfort, personal attention, and ease of capturing those unforgettable shots are worth every penny.
