The Historic Yuletide tour committee and participants express our deep condolences to Chris Hofacker in the passing of his partner Sebastian this past February. Chris and Sebastian have opened their home in the Yuletide tour for many years, this was always a highlight for Sebastian. We are grateful for the monetary donations, dedicated to the Yuletide tour in memory of Sebastian. The 39th annual Yuletide tour will be dedicated to Sebastian Wawrzyniak

Please join us and plan on attending our Annual Soup/Bakery/Lunch Sale this Saturday
December 6, 2025 from 12pm until sold out. Our favorite soups sell out so get in early and enjoy an affordable home cooked lunch. Located in our Parish House 76 Market, Salem, NJ. All proceeds benefit Episcopal Christian Women of St Johns.

Our soups are home made with love. There will be a variety of fresh breads and baked goods.

Come and relax, warm up during the Yuletidetour.

It’s time to get those tickets for this Saturday’s Salem Yuletide tour!! It’s going to be a great tour of 28 private homes and historic sites from 1pm-6pm. Be sure to come early to enjoy Salem City's Magic of Christmas Parade at 11am. And stay after for the tree lighting at 6:30.

Our last spotlight site on the tour is another favorite the Richard Johnson House (c. 1687)
On June 25th, 1685 Richard Wilkenson sold 16 acres of land to Richard Johnson for 15 pounds. On that land, Richard Johnson built this home in 1687. He named the home Guilford Hall as a pleasant reminiscence of Guilford Parish in Surrey, England where he was born.
In 1840, a single story section was removed and was replaced by the current addition constructed of brick for $2000.00.
The house and lands remained in the Johnson Family until it was sold to Benjamin Darlington around 1910.
Guilford Hall was also the home of T.R. Miller, milkman for the city of Salem, and the Toms Family who owned a flower shop also located in Salem.
The current owners, Ken and Debbie Gralley continue to preserve this comfortable old home and welcome visitors.
