Step into the Old Bailey, London, 1888: Where seeing is believing, but NOT being seen is a crime. The Trial of the Invisible Man the most “revealing” legal spectacle of the century! Mr. Invisible Mann stands accused of a scandalous crime: indecent exposure.

Presided over by the “eternally befuddled” Judge Arthur Vandelay and prosecuted by the ego-driven Nigel Flatware, the courtroom quickly descends into absolute chaos Between a defense attorney who is attending College in hopes of becoming a professional clown, a star witness who can’t stop swearing, and a Constable who speaks only in Scottish gibberish, the scales of justice aren’t just tipped, they’re falling off the table Filled with slapstick humor, meta-commentary, and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him defendant.. hilarity.

About The Play: John is anxious about turning 50 and having done nothing with his life. His loving wife, Marianne, decides to show him he’s wrong by hosting a surprise funeral instead of a birthday party. Sounds strange, but her intentions are good — she wants him to know how much he’s loved. It’s to be a fantastic surprise party for guests, relatives, the undertaker, and most of all, John. But there’s a mixup. John catches wind of Marianne’s plans for the funeral and assumes she’s planning to murder him. He purchases a plane ticket to Mexico to escape. When Marianne finds the plane ticket, she thinks John is leaving her! Their teenage daughter and the neighbors all have other even wackier ideas. This delightful mess is amazingly resolved in a hurricane of hilarity.

Nighttime Cherry Blossom Viewing Returns to State Capitol Park Tomorrow

The State Capitol State Park is set to glow this spring as Yozakura returns for another season of nighttime cherry blossom viewing. From March 21 through April 4, Japanese lanterns will light up the trees each evening from 6 to 10 p.m., offering a stunning backdrop for hanami, the Japanese tradition of gathering to appreciate the beauty of blossoming trees.

Visitors are encouraged to bring blank9ets, beach chairs, and picnic spreads to enjoy the experience. Admission is free.

The festivities kick off Friday with Cherry Blossom Day at the Capitol, running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and featuring booths, activities, and performances.

Kicking off the day on the Capitol steps at 10 a.m. tomorrow will be the Monmouth Taiko Drummers, Taiko drumming has long been a fixture of Japanese cultural events in the Willamette Valley, and their performance promises to be one of the highlights of the morning.

Performances and activities continue throughout the day in the Capitol Rotunda. Parking will be free on Saturday.
