Fun story about this lock-screen pic:

We rented cars when we were in Iceland because we wanted to be able to drive around (we didn’t). However, one day all eight of us did a lava tube excursion about an hour away from our apartment in Reykjavik.

On the way back, I took us on a detour. I had pinned a “hidden waterfall” location in Google Maps and thought it would be cool to go off the beaten path.

Google took us to some random parking lot. We all got out and looked around at nothing. We were about to leave when we saw some bicyclists emerging from a trail in the woods.

I asked them if they knew about a waterfall back there, but they didn’t. The woman in the group said “hold on” and disappeared back into the woods. She came back a few minutes later and said, “Yep! Found it!” And then gave us directions through the woods.

We walked about five minutes or so before we came across this private, hidden waterfall. We all started climbing the hill and walking across the river on rocks.

Kerri, of course, fell in the mud. It isn’t a vacation unless Kerri is falling, tripping, or being run over by a bicyclist in Amsterdam.

Anyway, was a cool little foray into the unknown to uncover a hidden treasure. Was so very cool.
