Teachers, fans, and students have been working , learning, and practicing for a week and now are showing off their skills. It's happening June 28th at 7:00 and lasts until 9:30 in Big Sur. There are two musical events happening a the Asilomar State Park. The first one is on June 20th at 6:00 featuring The Rudians. They are a Salinas group which plays reggae, ska and performs spoken word works. The second is the next day, the 21st, at 7:00. That one is the Summer Solstice Slam and features poetry. Juneteenth is the celebration of the announcement of the end of the Civil War, representing freedom for the enslaved people in the Confederacy.
