His daughter Lillian supports operations as a corporate travel intern, while his son Michael is pursuing his A&P certification with the help of Piedmont’s Tuition Payment Program.

It's National Safety Month! On this , we're excited to spotlight one of our dedicated safety team members.

Name + Position: Xavier Shaw, Ground Safety Manager

Interest in Aviation ✈️: Originally, I was looking to go into the automotive industry. I happened to stumble upon the aviation field and ended up loving it. Throwing bags as a ramp agent and then moving my way through supervisor positions and learning the operation. I was able to become part of the safety department and truly be a servant leader to all employees.

What do you LOVE about Piedmont? 💙I love meeting new people, helping my community, and being a helpful hand whenever it's necessary.

Name + Position: Angela Dupree, Inflight Services Supervisor

Interest in Aviation ✈️: My journey into aviation began because my brother, who worked as a ramp agent for Piedmont, encouraged me to apply for a flight attendant position. I did, and after being hired, I loved every minute of it. While my previous experience as a server felt somewhat similar, the aviation industry itself was entirely new to me, and I've been hooked ever since.

What do you LOVE about Piedmont? 💙 I love that even though we are relatively big, we're still family-oriented. Everyone here feels like a family, no matter what position you're in, whether it's the ramp, inflight, or another department, we are all very close.
