🌌 A collision of cosmic proportions 🌌

I spent the night taking pictures of two colliding galaxies, Bode's Galaxy (bottom) and the Cigar Galaxy (top). These two galaxies are 12 million light years away, meaning you are seeing them as they were 12 million years ago.

Galaxy collisions are a common occurrence in our universe. Our own galaxy, the Milky Way Galaxy, is on a collision course with our nearest neighbor, the Andromeda Galaxy. This won't happen for billions of years so we have nothing to worry about!

If you want to see these exact galaxies with your own eyes, no screens or cameras, book a private stargazing tour with us or purchase a ticket to one of our group stargazing sessions this summer.
