Just down from a three day climb of the North Ridge of Forbidden Peak. A challenging weather forecast shortened our windows for good climbing but with some perseverance and a high second bivy, we made it happen. The trip was a physically demanding up and over, climbing alpine style with overnight packs. What a pleasure to share this place with a solid group of brothers, whose positive attitudes alone may well have cleared the weather.

North Cascades is a really special spot if you have yet to explore it. Thanks for the good times! Tis the season for high alpine adventures. Be in touch!

Great summer turns on Mt. Baker this 4th of July weekend. 5000’ vert of continuous skiing. Not too shabby for the strange season across the West this year. Go big Mark on his first volcano ski mountaineering trip! Probably another few weeks left of clean slates if you need a fix.

As our Alaska season comes to a close I am left with gratitude for all who came out to play to make it happen this year: friends, clients and colleagues alike. The big mountains of the north always carry a high degree of gravity and this season that was amplified by an unusual weather pattern (epic cold and dry followed by warm and stormy) that contributed to tricky avalanche conditions. All said, we still saw lots of terrific skiing and riding from over 85,000’ of human powered vertical ascent over 23 ski days!
