PNW ski/splitboard and mountaineering season is in full effect from now into mid summer. We are operating on Mt Baker this season with ample opportunities for summer sliding and snow climbing. As our Alaska season comes to a close I am left with gratitude for all who came out to play to make it happen this year: friends, clients and colleagues alike. The big mountains of the north always carry a high degree of gravity and this season that was amplified by an unusual weather pattern (epic cold and dry followed by warm and stormy) that contributed to tricky avalanche conditions. All said, we still saw lots of terrific skiing and riding from over 85,000’ of human powered vertical ascent over 23 ski days!

It’s been a slower start to the season than usual, but the skiing and riding conditions have improved dramatically over the last few days. Picts are from a post Xmas Avalanche I course, where an interesting snowpack and perfect bluebird weather fostered full noggins and great vibes! We still have some availability for our next courses on Jan 15-16 and 17-18 for those in need. 4:1 low ratio max.
